Daniels Story Expository

Daniels Story Expository

Imagine Erica, Peter or Daniel's mother are still alive. Pick one of the three characters and ask yourself, "What questions would you like to ask the character?". Explain why your questions are important to you. Tell the character what you've learned and how you feel after hearing their story. If you can relate her experiences to any conditions facing your generation, explain those connections. Describe for the character what you will do to teach future generations the lessons you've learned from studying the Holocaust.

The person I chose was Erika. the first question I would ask is how does it feel to lose a loved because of their race or view? I would ask this because It is hard to imagine losing someone you know because they weren't part of the perfect race or they simply opposed someones view. The next Question i would ask is how do you feel about about Germans and other people responsible for other genocides? I would ask this because i would like to know weather or not they hate the entire German race or hate people responsible for other genocides. The last question i would ask is how did you feel when you were split from your family? I would ask this because it is hard to imagine being ripped away from your family, ripped away from your life. I learned that Hitler discriminated Jewish people from the rest of the Germans, the only real difference being their religion, their beliefs. I learned that they were forced to help the Germans build thing for them, in a way helping the Germans kill people. To teach future generations I will tell them all i know about the holocaust.

Progress Report Reflections

What do you think of your progress report? What are you happy with? Why are you not happy with?

I am mostly happy with my progress report. I am not really happy about my social studies mark . I think the rest of my marks are pretty good. I think that I did pretty good considering the class average on some assignments. I think that overall my marks are pretty good.

What can you do during term 2 in order to improve your progress report?

In general I will put more effort into school. I will put extra effort in to assignments. I will make sure when I miss a day of school I will figure out what we did and catch up on what I missed. I will continue paying attention and learning.

Daniel's Story: Hope vs. Food in the Ghetto

In the ghetto hope is more important than food. Hope is will to live and without will to live you will be almost helpless against death. Without the will to live you will die from starvation because you don't want to live. If you had all the bread you could eat you would still die without the will to live.

One example of hope from the book is Daniel's family having a radio, because they know what is going on in the war. Another example of hope is helping other people, like when Daniel and Rosa steal bread from the dad that was stealing bread from his kids, because you give hope to the kids whose dad was stealing because they have food to survive on. Helping others gives you hope because you know that you potentially saved someone’s life.

You can survive longer without food then without the will to live. That makes hope and the will to live more important than bread.

Video Games, Good or Bad?

Video games can be good and bad depending on how you look at it. One reason video are good is that they can they can increase your hand-eye coordination.  Another reason they are good is that they entertain people so they don't get annoying. One more reason they are good is that some are educational.

Video games are bad because some people get addicted to games like World of Warcraft and play them all day. One reason they are bad is that they can cause some people to be more violent. Another reason they are bad is that they cost money, and some even require a monthly subscription to play. One more reason they can be bad that people who play too many video games and become obese because they don't get enough exercise.

My opinion is that video games are good if you don't play them all day every day, and you don't play games that require a subscription to play. I think it is okay to play some game that require a monthly subscription to play, but only if it is less than 10 dollars a month and you enjoy the game, and don't play it just because some of your friends play it.

Whether video games are good or bad depend on the person you ask. Some people focus on the bad points about video games, such as the cost, people getting addicted, etc. Other people focus on the good points of video game like some being educational, increasing hand eye coordination, and keeping people entertained.

Disease Report

I liked this assignment because I learned a bit more about lice. I also figured out more about our blogs by figuring out how to embed the slide show.

Next time I would change the background, and put a bit more effort into the writing.
