The Outsiders: Chapter 1 Assignment
Ponyboy Curtis
Ponyboy is youngest of the group. He is the main character of the story, and the narrator of the story. He is one of the seven greasers introduced in chapter one. He has light brown almost red hair. He has greenish grey eyes. He likes to read and go to the movies. He doesn't use his head when he needs to. Both of his parents are dead.I chose BooBoo Stewart Because he has Dark brown hair like Ponyboy and is about the right age.
Dally Winston
The Toughest of the gang by far. he has a slightly elfish face with high cheek bone and a pointed chin with big ears. I chose Eminem to play him because he fits the description both character wise and appearance wise.
Johnny Cade
The gang's "pet" and the youngest in the gang except Ponyboy He has big, black eyes, dark, tanned skin, and long, curly, jet black hair. I choose Taylor Lautner because he is the only actor i know of that fits the descriptions of Johnny.
Darry Curtis
Sodapop Curtis
Sodapop is the oldest of the three brothers. He is "Movie Star Handsome", with a finely drawn sensitive face. he had combed back long silky straight dark-gold hair.He also has dark-brown eyes. I would use Zac Efron
because he mostly fits the description of Sodapop.

The Outsiders: Ponyboy vs Greg
Ponyboy and Greg are two very different people. Greg's family is a cookie cutter or ideal family. Ponyboy's neighborhood is poorer, and the kind of neighborhood where are more likely to be committed. A big difference is that Ponyboy has no parents, well Greg has loving parents. Even though they are two very different people they do share some similarities.
Both Greg and Ponyboy try to fit in. Ponyboy tries hard to fit in with the greasers, he tries to dress and act like a greaser. Ponyboy doesn't fit the description of of a greaser very well he has a high IQ, unlike most greasers who are not the smartest people, but are better with their hands. Ponyboy needs to fit in with the gang because both his two brothers are members of the gang, and he is alway around the gang members. Greg tries to fit in in middle school, he does this multiple time during the movie and it never gets the result he expected. Greg doesn't fit in in middle school because he is scrawny and not really a jock. One reason he thinks he needs to fit is because he thinks Rowly is making him unpopular, when really besides from a few times Rowly doesn't affect Greg's popularity, but is is himself that ends up making him unpopular.
Both Greg and Ponyboy are bullied. Greg is bullied by his older brother, Rodrick. One example of Rodrick bulling Greg is when Rodrick changes his clock, and makes him think he is supposed to have been up and ready for school an hour ago, at about two in the morning. Greg is also bullied by Patty. One example of Patty bulling Greg is her alway threatening to beat Greg up. Ponyboy is bullied by the Socs, An example of this is in chapter one when he is jump by the Socs on his way back from the movies.
Both Greg and Ponyboy don't use their heads. One example of Greg not using his head is him thinking that him joining wrestling, and thinking that it will somehow make him a class favorite. Another example of Greg not thinking stuff through is him pretending to be Rowley when Greg was hiding him and the kids in the pit in the construction site, and expecting him to get off free with out getting in trouble. A third example of Greg not using his head is him joining the play and expecting that at school the teacher would let him through an apple at Patty. One example of Ponyboy not thinking stuff through is him walking to the movies alone, and expecting that if he gets jumped he can defend himself or something.
As you can see Ponyboy and Greg have some similarities even though they live very different lives. Them not using there head, them being bullied, them trying to fit in are common similarities between people. Do you share any similarities with the characters in the stories?

Daniels Story Expository
Daniels Story Expository
The person I chose was Erika. the first question I would ask is how does it feel to lose a loved because of their race or view? I would ask this because It is hard to imagine losing someone you know because they weren't part of the perfect race or they simply opposed someones view. The next Question i would ask is how do you feel about about Germans and other people responsible for other genocides? I would ask this because i would like to know weather or not they hate the entire German race or hate people responsible for other genocides. The last question i would ask is how did you feel when you were split from your family? I would ask this because it is hard to imagine being ripped away from your family, ripped away from your life. I learned that Hitler discriminated Jewish people from the rest of the Germans, the only real difference being their religion, their beliefs. I learned that they were forced to help the Germans build thing for them, in a way helping the Germans kill people. To teach future generations I will tell them all i know about the holocaust.
Imagine Erica, Peter or Daniel's mother are still alive. Pick one of the three characters and ask yourself, "What questions would you like to ask the character?". Explain why your questions are important to you. Tell the character what you've learned and how you feel after hearing their story. If you can relate her experiences to any conditions facing your generation, explain those connections. Describe for the character what you will do to teach future generations the lessons you've learned from studying the Holocaust.

Progress Report Reflections
What do you think of your progress report? What are you happy with? Why are you not happy with?
I am mostly happy with my progress report. I am not really happy about my social studies mark . I think the rest of my marks are pretty good. I think that I did pretty good considering the class average on some assignments. I think that overall my marks are pretty good.
What can you do during term 2 in order to improve your progress report?
In general I will put more effort into school. I will put extra effort in to assignments. I will make sure when I miss a day of school I will figure out what we did and catch up on what I missed. I will continue paying attention and learning.
